Stop the destruction of the endangered urban forest for WestConnex

Almost all of the critically endangered Cooks River Castlereagh Ironbark Forest (CCIF) in Beverly Grove will be bulldozed this week for the destructive WestConnex project.  This remnant forest will be destroyed this Friday to provide temporary parking space for WestConnex machinery.

Beverly Grove Remnant bushland is one of the largest remaining  patches of the CCIF and was preserved as an offset for the construction of the original M5. Despite this, 1.4ha of the site will now be bulldozed for the New M5 by the Baird government. Unless we stop it.

Join us this Friday to protest the wanton destruction of nationally listed critically endangered forest by the Baird Government.

Initial meeting place will be at the Tallawalla Street end of the underpass under the M5E. This is on a, so far, publicly accessible footpath that goes to the Forest. The underpass can also be approached from the North via Rosebank St, Kingsgrove. The nearest landmark for maps and Satnavs is Canterbury Golf Course.
